Women Action For sustainable initiative (WASI) is a
Women led non-political, and a non-profitable development National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) based in South Sudan, founded in 2023 through legal registration by Relief and Rehabilitation Commission with registration number 706.
WomenAction for Sustainable initiative dedicates to implement humanitarian and development programs through supporting the National efforts in addressing the country Food Security/Nutrition, Education Water Sanitation and Hygiene issues to transform the lives of women, youth and rural communities in difficult circumstances.

WASI’s mandate is to strengthen the resilience and self-reliance of vulnerable communities through integrated
support in food security, education, livelihoods, climate adaptation, market systems, peace building, protection,
WASH, and emergency response.
The organization promotes sustainable agriculture, inclusive education, diversified
incomes, and functional markets while empowering women and youth and strengthening social cohesion.
Through
community-led climate action, financial inclusion, and access to basic services, WASI addresses immediate
humanitarian needs and builds long-term pathways for sustainable development and stability.
WASI’s mission is to empower rural communities like women, youth, and vulnerable people to achieve food security, education, economic self-reliance, and long-term resilience through integrated, locally led, and gender transformative development and humanitarian approaches.
